An Exclusive Tour Of The Alo’s Winter House

Sense of community and togetherness enhances any wellness journey. As fitness studios temporarily closed and in-person group classes were unceremoniously cancelled in 2020, many o took to their living rooms and online workout classes as a means for staying healthy and active. And although our favorite studios havev managed to stay creative when it came to brining the wellness experience to the digital sphere, nothing can still quite compare to the feeling of solidarity, unity and oneness of a group, in-person workout.

After months of flying, flowing and planking solo, ALO brought back the terribly-missed feeling of community by opening the ALO House in Malibu, California. As the exclusive, by-invitation only wellness hub came to life in June 2021, enthusiasts once again immersed in the joys of moving, meditating and flowing as a collective. Head of Public Relations for ALO, Maxine Silva, recalls, “ALO House in June was so well-received that we had to do a winter version.”

Doors to the ALO WINTER House opened on November 1, 2021. Designed around the idea of creating winter wellness experiences, the space was transformed into a fitness wonderland of sorts. Maxine shares, “ALO House will feature a holiday gifting suite, yoga room, photo moments, an ice rink, festive healthy bites and bevs and our very own ALO Holiday Fern and Snow globe.”

Gaining access to this innovative wellness haven, is like getting a golden ticket to the Willy Wonka Chocolate Factory. Maxine clarifies, “It’s by-invite only.” Among the select few who’ve been spotted hanging around the Winter House include Lucy Hale, Alessandra Ambrosio, Shanina Shayk, Clare Crawley and Jalen Ramsey. Cool and creative activations like morning yoga sessions, sunset sound baths, ALO facials, tarot readings, ear seeding and all-day wellness cocktails make the ALO House a must-visit wellness destination.

More than it being an experiential marketing event, the ALO House mirrors the role of community in every wellness journey. On their blog, members of the ALO team write that: “Community is everything to us. There was no better way to bring people together again, than with a whole week dedicated to movement, wellness, mindfulness and connection.” There is undeniable power in sharing magical moments on the mat, small victories and enlightening breakthroughs with like minded individuals. When I began my wellness journey, it was the palpable energy and motivating cheers of those in my group classes that made me come back to studio.

Gradually and happily, I traded in late night weekends for a yoga flow, Pilates session or spin class. Since the temporarily closures of gyms and studios due to Covid, I’ve been waiting with bathed breath to reconnect in person with member fitness families. Just the same, I eagerly wait for the day when travel is made less restrictive so I can finally use my golden ticket to enter the next ALO House.
