Lisandro Martinez tempted by Arsenal
The report has claimed that Martinez is leaving Ajax for Manchester United in the summer transfer window for a reunion with Erik ten Hag.
Martinez and Ten Hag worked at Ajax together.
CBSSports have reported that Arsenal are/were keen on the 24-year-old and made a detailed proposal.
Arsenal manager Arteta and the North London club’s Technical Director Edu made a ‘detailed proposal’ to Martinez, who was ‘tempted’ by a move to the Gunners, but he has opted for Manchester United instead.
The Daily Mail have reported that Manchester United and Ajax have reached an agreement over a £46 million transfer deal over the defender.
In our view, Lisandro Martinez choosing Manchester United over Arsenal is not a surprise at all.
Manchester United are arguably the biggest club in England and have Martinez’s former Ajax manager Ten Hag in charge now.
Arsenal also have Ben White and Gabriel as their two main centre-backs, while Kieran Tierney is the first-choice left-back when he is fit and available at the Gunners.
Martinez is likely to play more at Manchester United than at Arsenal.
