Betty Jean Shea, 88, of Cresco, IA, handed away at Regional Health Services of Howard County on Tuesday, May 17, 2022.

Betty Jean Taylor was born on January 27, 1934, to Albert and Evaline (Schmauss) Taylor in Howard County, IA. She graduated in 1952 from Cresco High School. Betty and Kenneth met at a younger age. On December 31, 1953, Kenneth and Betty have been united in marriage; to this union have been six youngsters.

Betty’s most important precedence in life was caring for her household and buddies. She cherished to feed her family members and all the time made positive that they had a mattress to sleep in. Her ardour of caretaking led to a lifetime of cooking, cleansing, gardening and canning. Over the years, she helped her mom and aunt with portray, wall papering and home cleansing. The three of them collectively redesigned the interiors of many properties across the countryside.

She spent years organizing church actions, volunteering at Country Winds Manor and the Patty Elwood Center. For a number of years, she held a place within the ARC of Howard County, ending because the workplace president. Betty was a really giving lady, and she or he was all the time prepared to lend her time to assist one other particular person. Betty is survived by her youngsters, Timothy Shea Sr. of Lime Springs, his youngsters Timothy (Bonnie) Shea of La Crosse, WI, their youngsters Elizabeth and A.J., and Amanda (Jarred) Tomlinson of Cedar Rapids, their sons Blake and Corbin; Keith (Barbara) Shea of Lyle, MN, their youngsters Lacy Shea of Lyle, MN, her youngsters Fred, Bernie, and Frances, and Cody (Kelsey) Shea of Austin, MN; Karen (Tom) Wencl of Blooming Prairie, MN, their youngsters Wayne (Linnea) Wencl of Blooming Prairie, MN, their youngsters Jayden, Cameron, and Allison, Chris Wencl of Blooming Prairie, MN, and Jenny Wencl of Kuala Lumpor; Patrick (Donna) Shea of What Cheer, IA, their daughter Laura-Jean Lucille (Nathan) Fernald; and Rita Shea of Cresco, and siblings Pat (Connie) Taylor of Cresco, Tom (Doris) Taylor of Versailles, KY, Elinor Taylor of Ionia, IA, and Elenor Wubben of Clear Lake, IA.

She was preceded in dying by her husband, Kenneth; son, Wayne; father, Albert Taylor; mom, Evaline (Ray) Fulcher; brother Rodney Taylor; toddler sister Shirley Taylor, and brother-in-law Jerry Wubben.

Mass of Christian Burial for Betty might be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 24, at Notre Dame Catholic Church in Cresco,  with Father David Schatz officiating. Burial will observe at Calvary Cemetery, Cresco. Visitation might be from 9:30-11 a.m. Tuesday earlier than Mass.
