DRS, Nathan Lyon Stuart Broad LBW, Australia v England

Cricket fans were left scratching their heads following a controversial DRS decision that prevented Nathan Lyon from dismissing Stuart Broad during today’s action of the second Test.

Moments after Broad made his way out to the crease with England battling to force a draw, stand-in skipper Steve Smith opted for a review after the Englishman padded away a Lyon delivery.

After the on-field umpire didn’t give into Lyon’s appeal, DRS deemed the delivery to have bounced over the stumps which came as a shock to many.

Australian cricket great Shane Warne was left surprised at the decision while calling the match on Fox Cricket.

“Gee that’s bounced a long way… from that full?” he said

“That’s what Nathan Lyon and the Aussie guys are saying – ‘it’s bounced that high from that full?'”

After watching a number of replays, Warner later stated: “The padder, it looked really close that one, but somehow (DRS) decided it bounced like a foot over the stumps”.

Meanwhile, pundits on social were quick to react with many questioning the accuracy of the DRS.
