MILWAUKEE, Wis. — A big name is returning to the Brewers’ clubhouse ahead of an important four-game series against St. Louis.

Josh Hader, who had missed the last four games to be present for the birth of his son, was reinstated Monday, the team announced. Hader has the second-most saves in baseball this season with 19 and has struck out 33 batters over 19.2 innings of work.

It wasn’t all good news for Milwaukee. Starter Aaron Ashby is headed to the 15-day injured list with left forearm inflammation. Ashby left the game last week in New York after five innings as a precaution.

Ashby has had a rough start to the season. He is 1-5 after eight starts and his ERA is 4.25. He was scheduled to start Tuesday’s game against St. Louis.
