Bradley Cooper was once mocked for his Oscar nods and it didn’t sit well with him.
He sat down with Will Arnett, Jason Bateman, and Sean Hayes for an episode of the SmartLess podcast when he shared that an unnamed director once spoke lowly of his achievements.
The actor and director has been the recipient of numerous awards over the years, but has he ever won an Oscar?
Has Bradley Cooper won an Oscar?
Bradley has received a total of nine Oscar nominations, but he has never won the prestigious award.
The actor has a British Academy Film Award and two Grammy Awards to his name. He has also received six Golden Globe and one Tony Award nominations.
Bradley was nominated for the Oscars in the category of Best Actor for ‘Silver Lining playbook’, Best Supporting Actor for ‘American Hustle’, Best Picture and Best Actor for ‘American Sniper’ and ‘A Star Is Born’ and Best Picture for ‘Joker’ and ‘Nightmare Alley’.
What did he say on the podcast?
The actor was at a 2017 CAA party when a director, whose identity wasn’t revealed, told in the presence of another unnamed thrice-Oscar-nominated actress: “What world are we living in where you have seven nominations and she’s only got three?’”
Bradley was taken aback by the remark. He explained: “I’m like, ‘bro, why are you such an a*****e?’ I would never f*****g forget that. Go f*** yourself.”
He also recollected another incident from 2011 when he received his first Oscar nomination for ‘Silver Lining Playbook’. An actress apparently told him at the time: “I saw your movie. You deserve the nom.”
He didn’t like the tone of the actress as he told the hosts: “I remember thinking, what the f*** is this town?’ Can you imagine saying that to somebody?”
