The Hilltoppers competed in their first scrimmage of the season on Friday morning against Hudson High School. For the Onalaska football team, the objective was to stay healthy, and see what they could improve on before their Week One clash with West Salem.
“It felt good to get back to hitting people that’s not your own team,” senior defensive end and running back Jon Knickrehm said. ”
I felt like we took energy from practice and used it as fuel for this scrimmage to get ready for West Salem.”
“We’ve got 20-something seniors, the kids have done a great job, and I think they’re just ready to get after somebody else,” Head Coach Tom Yashinsky added.
The Hilltoppers will get their chance on Friday, August 19th, as Onalaska opens up the regular season at home against West Salem.
