Manchester United have confirmed the departure of executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward and announced Richard Arnold as his replacement.

Current group managing director Arnold will step up to the role of chief executive officer on February 1.

Elsewhere, Manchester City have suffered a COVID outbreak ahead of their FA Cup clash against Swindon, with manager Pep Guardiola testing positive.

Burnley boss Sean Dyche and Arsenal forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang have also contracted coronavirus.

Meanwhile, Kieran Trippier is expected to join Newcastle from Atletico Madrid imminently, although talkSPORT understands the Magpies had a bid rejected for Sevilla defender Diego Carlos.
