CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The West Virginia State Police has launched an investigation after a tractor-trailer driver died in an incident on the West Virginia Turnpike.
According to Captain R.A. Maddy, a West Virginia Parkways Authority employee observed the guardrail close to mile-marker 51 of Interstate 77 was broken round 6 a.m. Wednesday. The worker additionally observed a tractor-trailer over an embankment.
Authorities recognized the truck’s driver as 48-year-old Anthony Hutchinson of Spring, Texas. Maddy stated Hutchinson drove off the roadway’s edge and went over an embankment, leading to heavy injury to the car. Hutchinson was pronounced useless on the scene.
