MENDOTA – Donna J. Chapman, 87, handed from pure causes on Feb. 7, 2022 at Heritage Health Nursing Home, Mendota.
Public visitation can be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 10 on the Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota. A personal household funeral will comply with at 11 a.m. with Rev. Mary Bohall officiating. Burial can be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Mendota.
Donna was born Aug. 19, 1934 in Rushville to Paul and Florence (Croxton) Park. The fifth of 11 kids, she relished within the many reminiscences she shared together with her siblings. She married the love of her life, Richard Roman, in 1955 in Spokane, Wash. the place he was stationed whereas serving within the U.S. Air Force. He preceded her in loss of life in 1977. They had two daughters, Rose (Terry) Wiesbrock of Fox Lake, Wis. and Barb Schumacher of LaSalle. In 1979, she married Jack Chapman. He preceded her in loss of life in 2020.
Survivors embrace her two daughters; three grandchildren, Brad (Brenda) Grothen, Brooke Schumacher and Brandon Schumacher; three siblings, Kay Fitzjarrald of Rushville, Nancy Schisler of Rushville and Teressa Rogers of Mt. Pulaski; and lots of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in loss of life by her two husbands, her dad and mom and 7 siblings, Gene Park, Jeanette Hoff, Beverly Park, Jim Park, Ralph Park, Bill Park, and Paulette Park.
Donna was a resident of Mendota for over 50 years and spent lots of these years employed on the Mendota Reporter. She loved her household, her flowers, watching the birds, and maintaining with the Game Show Network. For a few years you may see her with a wave and a smile whereas on her routine walks by city. Though her household is heartbroken by her passing, we all know she’s going to eternally be remembered for her sort phrases, her fast wit, and for all the time having a solution to make us snort.
