VERONA, Wis. — Leaders from science and technology company MilliporeSigma took part in a ribbon-cutting ceremony Wednesday to mark the completion of an expansion project at the company’s Verona campus.
The $65 million project resulted in a 70,000-square-foot facility on Kettle Moraine Trail on Verona’s southeast side.
The company said it will help it keep up with the growing demand for high-potent active pharmaceutical ingredients used in cancer therapies. The facility will now allow the company to double its HPAPI capacity.
“We’ve been developing these critical products for drug manufacturers for the last 30 years, so hence we have a lot of specialist knowledge,” said Joe Bergin, the head of operations at the company’s Verona site. “With this expansion, we become one of the largest manufacturers of these type(s) of products across the globe.”
Bergin said MilliporeSigma is also hiring 50 workers companywide to help keep up with the demand for its products.
