NRL Parramatta vs Warriors | Clint Gutherson vomits after hit from Marcelo Montoya

Parramatta captain Clint Gutherson was left re-tasting his lunch after a nasty collision with Marcelo Montoya.

Gutherson spent a good minute catching his breath after the massive hit in the Eels’ 28-18 win over the Warriors.

Gutherson had scooted onto a Mitchell Moses pass deep in Warriors territory and then passed the ball on, which went into touch.

But no sooner had the Eels fullback released the ball, he was crunched by Montoya tearing in from his wing.

The clash left him on all fours, before vomiting on the CommBank Stadium surface.

Even those in the Nine commentary box were left wincing.

Andrew Johns was sympathetic of Gutherson’s plight.

“It’s the hits that you don’t see coming and you’re relaxed, as you can see … talk about catching an up-and-under,” he said.

Gutherson said he didn’t know what was coming back up.

“Montoya just absolutely folded me off the wing. I couldn’t breathe for a couple of seconds, but I got back up,” he said.

“I don’t know what was coming up, but I feel good now. I’m a very big spewer no matter what I’m doing … my throat’s going to be sore later.”

After sucking in the big ones in back play for a minute or so, Gutherson played on and even scored in the 56th minute.
