Star Wars fans react to Qui-Gon Jinn’s cameo

Fans already held the Obi-Wan Kenobi finale in high regard, but Liam Neeson’s return as Qui-Gon Jinn made this fan’s 23-year-wait that much sweeter:

Another fan said they “lost it” when Qui-Gon Jinn appeared and said it was great seeing Liam Neeson as the Jedi again:

Lastly, this fan described the finale as “perfect”, including Qui-Gon’s appearance:

Liam Neeson’s return was the cherry on top of the cake

Throughout Obi-Wan Kenobi, Liam Neeson’s return as Kenobi’s master, Qui-Gon Jinn, was teased several times throughout the narrative.

As Obi-Wan repeatedly turned to his master for guidance, the Star Wars fandom believed a cameo from the character as a force ghost was guaranteed – even if it was just Liam Neeson’s voice.

Well, fans got their wish, as the Jedi’s appearance was once again teased in the finale, and the tension of waiting the entire episode to finally see his force ghost really was the cherry on top of a brilliant finale.

Obi-Wan Kenobi Season 2

Obi-Wan Kenobi has six episodes within the series, which began with a double-bill premiere on Friday, May 27, 2022.

Now that the finale has aired, Star Wars fans are asking if Season 2 is on the table but it may not be likely.

Joby Harold spoke on the Deadline Podcast (via Digital Spy) about how he never envisioned Kenobi to run past one season:

“I’m being asked about it constantly. I’ve just been thinking about this for so long as a close-ended story that my mind is so focused on this as a sort of limited [series], that I haven’t thought beyond it.”

On the other hand, actor Ewan McGregor spoke candidly to Radio Times about his passion to return to the character in the future:

“I hope it’s not the last time I play him. I had such a great time doing this, I’m sure we can think of a few more stories before I turn into Alec Guinness, don’t you think?”
