CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Authorities are describing a person shot by Princeton law enforcement officials over the weekend as “highly agitated” and “aggressive.”
According to the Princeton Police Department, an officer shot the person after being attacked within the incident.
Officers on Saturday night responded to North Fifth Street a couple of white male inflicting a disturbance with an ATV. Officers spoke to an individual who contacted authorities about damages to the property and the ATV’s location earlier than contacting the suspect. Officers tried to place the person into custody, however he charged at legislation enforcement with an aluminum baseball bat.
The man attacked an officer and almost hit him with the bat. The officer shot a gun and struck the suspect. Authorities carried out first help and life-saving measures. The suspect later died at Princeton Community Hospital.
