Rochelle Information-Chief | Donald W. Johnson Jr.



ROCHELLE — Donald W. Johnson Jr., 67, of Rochelle, handed away Thursday, Feb. 24 at his residence. Don was born Feb. 23, 1955, in Rochelle, the son of Donald W. and Mary Ann (Koechig) Johnson Sr. He married Linda Reed on July 20, 1973 in Oregon.

Don spent most of his profession as a automotive salesman. He labored for 35 years at his household’s dealership, D.J.’s Auto Sales, in Rockford. He loved watching sports activities, particularly his Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs. He liked being outside. He may typically be discovered driving his Harley, going for walks or sitting on his swing within the summertime. Don was a loving and devoted son, husband, father, grandfather and brother. He was very near his household and would take time day by day to talk with quite a few relations.

Don is survived by his mom, Mary Ann Johnson of Rochelle; his spouse, Linda Johnson of Rochelle; two youngsters, Kim (Greg) Johnson of Waukesha, Wisconsin and Brian (Lindsay) Johnson of Kirkland; three grandchildren, Maddie Hanson of Pewaukee, Wisconsin and Emma and Rylee Johnson of Kirkland; his sister, Terry (Tom) Harvell of Rochelle and quite a few mates.

Don is preceded in demise by his father, Donald W. Johnson Sr. 

Visitation can be from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, March 2 on the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. sixth St. in Rochelle.

The funeral service can be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 3, 2022, on the Unger-Horner Funeral Home with Chaplain Judy Williams officiating. Interment will comply with in Lawnridge Cemetery in Rochelle. Contributions in Don’s reminiscence could also be directed to the household for a memorial to be established.
