LA CROSSE (WKBT)–The La Crosse Area Suicide Prevention Initiative held its annual event Wednesday to mark Suicide Awareness Month.
The event featured music and a performance by the La Crosse Dance Centre.
The group set up memorial displays and gave out information about local resources.
A member of the Initiative hopes events like this let people know they’re not alone.
“Hopefully if anybody is having a hard time or thoughts of suicide, they will see with these events that they’re not alone,” said member Julie Dietz. “There are other people [who] have experienced those thoughts and feelings too.”
If you or anyone you know has suicidal thoughts, call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 988.
