As unprecedented times have hit the world since 2020, so too have they hit our local school district and ones across the nation. Our Berkeley County Schools staff has shown great dedication and resilience to combat obstacles faced over the last two years, all in efforts to provide the best and safest educational experiences to our children.

However, those children are in need as the nationwide staffing shortage continues to challenge our district.

There are many opportunities to support our students, schools and community by being a substitute, whether it be as an aide, bus operator, cook, custodian, nurse, mechanic, secretary or teacher. Whatever your skillset may be, there is a critical and important role you can play in Berkeley County Schools and the lives of our children.

A substitute position provides that much-needed support while also benefiting you in so many ways. It’s a chance to test the waters in a potential career, to have a flexible schedule that accommodates your family’s needs, to supplement your income – all in the place The Journal’s readers voted as the Best Place to Work in 2021.

Berkeley County Schools is building the futures of our students, and we’d love to be a part of building your future as well, working together to provide our children, our employees and our community with opportunities to thrive and excel.

If you are interested in supporting the students and staff of Berkeley County Schools, call or stop by our office at 1453 Winchester Avenue and speak to our HR team. They are anxious to meet you and connect you with an opportunity best suited to your skills and schedule.
