Tax deadline is Monday – are you prepared?


MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — The deadline to file federal taxes is Monday.

IRS Public Affairs Officer Lauren Winebrenner says don’t panic.

“My first tip is don’t panic. Rushing to file your tax return can result in errors.” Winebrenner told the Panhandle News Network in Martinsburg. “Be sure if you haven’t filed yet, get all your documents in order. Use electronic filing, which can minimize errors, and visit irs.gov for ideas.”

Winebrenner mentioned taxpayers can name 844-545-5640 to name and discover the closest open facility and make an appointment for tax help.

She cautions that the hours and dates could range and that a few of the places of work are usually not open on a regular basis.
