Thomas ‘Tom’ Strange


June 24, 1944 – April 25, 2022

Thomas “Tom” Strange, 77, died peacefully at Gundersen Health System on Monday, April 25, of accidents suffered in a fall.

Tom was born in Ainsworth, Nebraska, on June 24, 1944, to Walter T. Strange and Leonora Lillian Rohweder. He married his soulmate, Michele Marie Floersch, on June 24, 1972, at St. John’s Church in Omaha, Nebraska. They had been married 49 years and 10 months. They met in library college at Rosary College in River Forest, Illinois. Tom labored in public libraries and was director of 4 public libraries, the final one in La Crosse.

Tom was energetic in La Crosse Friends of International Students, Thomas Book Group and Town and Country Garden Club. One of his passions was gardening and his backyard was all the time lovely. He was within the arts and liked drama, music and tremendous artwork. While residing in La Crosse, he and Michele had been buddies of worldwide school college students. As a end result, they know folks around the globe, and plenty of thought of them American mother and father. Tom was a sort soul, with a beneficiant coronary heart and knew no stranger. Tom is survived by his loving spouse, Michele; aunt, Candy Rohweder; nephew, John Norton, and a number of other cousins.

He was preceded in dying by his mother and father and a brother, Terry.

Visitation can be at 5 p.m. Monday, May 2, at Roncalli Newman Church, adopted by a Mass of Christian Burial at 6 p.m.
