Three teens arrested in connection to stolen car and identity theft

MADISON, Wis. — Three teens have been arrested for stealing a vehicle and identity theft, according to the Madison Police Department.

On Monday, a victim reported to Madison Police that someone tried to steal her car and stole her purse from it.

Shortly after, an officer observed a different stolen vehicle in the area of the West Towne Mall.

Mall staff alerted the officer to fraud in one of the stores where the three male suspects used the victim’s credit card to purchase hundreds of dollars in merchandise fraudulently.

The suspects were identified from their involvement in past investigations for auto theft and using personal documents of others for financial gain.

Thursday, authorities served a Search Warrant and evidence of the theft and fraud was found, as well as two firearms.

The investigation is ongoing.
